Is telehealth the same as telemedicine?

Yes. Telehealth and telemedicine are different words for the same thing. Both telehealth and telemedicine use modern technology, like smartphones, tablets, and computers, to share medical information securely over the internet. 

If you don’t want to leave the house, can’t take time off work, or are immunocompromised and don’t want to be exposed to others in a waiting room, telehealth is an excellent way to stay on top of your health and well-being.

How do I prepare for a telehealth appointment?

To get the most out of your telehealth appointment at Centeno Health, take time to prepare in advance. Gather all of the necessary documentation, including your health insurance card, results from any recent or relevant tests, and the names of the medications and supplements you take.

Centeno Health sends you a secure link to access the telehealth portal in the days before your appointment. Log in to the online system and test your camera, microphone, and internet connection beforehand. If you have questions or need help, contact the office for technical support. 

What happens during a telehealth appointment?

Centeno Health tailors your telehealth appointment to your unique needs.

For example, if you injured yourself at work, your provider asks about the injury itself and has you point your camera at the affected part of your body to check for bruising, redness, or swelling. Then, they have you rate your pain on a scale of 1-10 and quiz you about how the injury affects your mobility and quality of life.
